Andover, MA
Brinjac provided the mechanical and electrical design for the upgrade of an existing chiller plant including replacement of (2) 600 ton chillers with (2)750 ton centrifugal chillers, both with variable speed drives. The project also included the upgrade of the condenser water pumps and new variable speed primary chilled water pumps.

Austin, TX
Brinjac provided the MEP design for this construction project which included 17,000 square feet of lab space and over 121,000 square feet of office renovation. The lab is used for the development and testing of new HP computer equipment and contains space for over 300 computer racks, 50 test benches and other miscellaneous equipment. This required the installation of 250 tons of additional cooling. The office was reconfigured to double the occupancy, which required extensive modification of the existing air distribution system.

The original central plant was constructed with five (5) 1200 ton centrifugal chillers and one (1) 400 ton steam absorption chiller. Steam for the absorption chiller was produced by a 5,000,000 BTUH fire tube boiler which also served as a backup to a second 5,000,000 BTUH fire-tube heating boiler. Chilled and heating water from the plant was distributed throughout a large campus consisting of several building used for the development, test and manufacture of computer equipment. This plant was one of plants serving the campus. Due to much of the manufacturing being moved off-shore, many of the building were no longer needed and were sold, along with one of the chiller plants. As a result, this remaining plant did not have the capacity or redundancy to serve the remaining buildings, nor was it configured for concurrent maintenance.
