Hershey Center for Applied Research
Brinjac provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and fire alarm engineering services for the design and construction of this building. The Hershey Center for Applied Research is the first building that will be constructed at the Hershey Research Park campus. The building core and shell was designed to support research and development programs. The building is a three story structure with a partial basement. The third floor, second floor and portions of the first floor were designed to support research laboratory space. The partial basement was designed to support Vivarium space. Designing the mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure for this building presented unique challenges due to the limited program information available at the time. The building core systems were designed to maximum flexibility in space usage.
