Brinjac provided lighting design engineering services for the construction of Calvin Klein’s boutique store located in Macy’s Flagship at Herald Square in New York City. From project inception, Brinjac worked closely with executives at Calvin Klein, Macy’s, and the project’s designers The Mufson Partnership to deliver results that fit in with the appropriate guidelines and standards of the retailer and the clothing company while capturing the ultimate Calvin Klein experience.
To create an airy, bright feel that complemented the white design aesthetic, the team installed back lit ceilings and illuminated back lit surfaces, balancing the color temperature. Lighting was incorporated into display cases to bring attention to the Calvin Klein brand and the color rendering index was calculated to ensure that products appear as requested. Additionally, HVAC and sprinklers were incorporated into MEP lighting fixtures.
