Fire Protection Services and the Baltimore City School System
Brinjac Engineering has provided fire protection engineering services associated with the design of new addressable voice fire alarm systems and automatic sprinkler systems for over thirty of the Baltimore City Public School facilities. Brinjac’s Fire Protection Team surveys each site and field locates the equipment to ensure coordinated designs and provides construction period services to aid in the successful completion of these projects.
The fire alarm system designs included new addressable voice fire alarm systems throughout the buildings. In an effort to reduce costs and minimize the impact to the existing spaces, ceiling mounted notification devices were utilized and complete on ceiling smoke detection was only provided in non-sprinklered buildings. In buildings that included sprinkler system designs, a water supply analysis and hydraulic calculations were completed to validate the available water supply. The fire protection designs included complete automatic wet pipe sprinkler systems and manual wet standpipe systems.
The Brinjac Fire Protection Team consists of registered Fire Protection Engineers that are capable of addressing a wide range of fire protection and code related issues.
