Brinjac Engineering was hired to design the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural and civil engineering for a new 93,000-sf science building. The space will be approx. 50% lab. Smart technology will be included in the design.

Because LEED certification is being sought, additional design elements such as non-potable water (hot and cold) for laboratory sinks and water closets, storm water collection system from roof drains and waterless urinals will be incorporated.

Plumbing design for the labs includes acid waste drain piping, potable and non-potable hot/cold water, laboratory air, vacuum, natural gas, R.O. water, tempered water (emergency showers) and steam piping.
