| Renovations began in the main corridor, where pendants were used to accentuate the refurbished archways. Computer classrooms were renovated with perforated steel indirect/direct pendants. By dimming only the outer fixture of each row, veiling reflections and initial costs are minimized, while providing maximum flexibility. The students prefer operating only the outer fixtures at 50%, providing about 10 footcandles. Several existing classrooms were removed to make a Language Learning Center. In the group meeting/breakout area a low voltage rail system serpentines off the circulation desk area providing pools of light to create a dramatic, yet inviting visual experience, while eliminating the need for exposed conduit on the existing concrete ceiling. more |
