Hershey, PA -- The 180,000-square-foot Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute opened to patients on July 13th. The state-of-the-art $153 million facility, located on the campus of the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA, will provide both cancer treatment and ongoing cancer research.
Brinjac Engineering's healthcare technology specialists provided full telecommunication engineering services for the Cancer Institute including nurse call and cabling infrastructure to support physiological monitoring, audio/visual smart conference rooms, voice/data and patient/staff tracking throughout the Institute.
The four-story building will be staffed with 200 doctors, nurses and others devoted to caring for cancer patients. About 165 researchers will also occupy lab space at the facility.
