BRINJAC ENGINEERING BESTOWED THE BOSTON SOCIETY OF ARCHITECTS' 2001 AWARD FOR DESIGN EXCELLENCE

HARRISBURG, PA - Brinjac Engineering, Inc., one of Pennsylvania's leading engineering firms, is bestowed The Boston Society of Architects' 2001 Award for Design Excellence. The prestigious award recognizes Brinjac Engineering for their lighting design work on the Milton Hershey School Town Center, and their contribution to the overall success of the project which included a new high school, middle school, learning resource center, visual arts building, performance gymnasium, clock tower, and renovations to an existing performing arts building.

"We were extremely pleased with the professionalism and dedication exhibited by Brinjac's design team," said Martha A. Pilgreen, partner at Perry Dean Rogers | Partners, the lead architectural firm assigned to the project. "Brinjac's quality lighting consultation, in conjunction with services provided by other firms involved with the project, assisted in achieving our overall architectural vision."

The intention of the design was to create a comfortable yet safe environment with conservative lighting levels that would match the rural landscape of the community. Brinjac provided architectural lighting design services for all the buildings associated with the Town Center as well as a comprehensive lighting master plan for the entire campus.

The Boston Society of Architects is the largest branch of the American Institute of Architects and administers programs and provides resources that enhance the practice of architecture and the public and professional understanding of design. The Design Award Program recognizes and honors excellence in architectural design by all Massachusetts architects and by architects throughout the world who wish to submit projects in Massachusetts. The award is based solely on the criterion of design excellence.

Recently named one of the top 30 firms in the U.S. by Building Design & Construction, Brinjac Engineering provides a variety of engineering services across the state through its fully staffed offices in Harrisburg, Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley.
