BRINJAC ENGINEERING, Inc. (BRINJAC) provided exterior lighting design for the renovation of the McFarland Press Building into an apartment and studio complex, including 49 new apartments and 6,000 SF of dance and art studios for a non-profit community group. The BRINJAC design included both the new streetscape lighting and building architectural lighting, including the fiber optic accents along the roofline. Located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the facility is owned by Pennrose Properties, Inc.

The McFarland is the recipient of the 1998 Pennsylvania Historic and Museum Commission Award, the 1998 Historic Harrisburg Award, and the Regional Award of Merit from the IIDA (International Illumination Design Awards). The structure was originally constructed in 1906 and 1926 as office and production facilities by Horace McFarland, a nationally renowned printer, horticulturalist and urban and national parks advocate.
