| BRINJAC ENGINEERING, Inc. (BRINJAC) provided electrical engineering and associated mechanical and structural engineering design services for the development of plans, specifications and construction cost estimates for the upgrade and consolidation of electrical service for Alumni Hall of Engineering, a 35,484 SF campus building and Dana Hall of Engineering, a 19,257 SF campus building. Services included design of a new 2.4kV indoor substation and switchboard. BRINJAC also provided design for the elimination of overhead lines and expansion of the existing underground distribution system and upgrade of a portion of the existing underground electrical distribution system including underground raceways, manholes and 5kV terminators. BRINJAC also developed a Master Plan for a campus-wide electrical distribution system. The system currently operates at 2.4kV with capabilities for future upgrading to 4.16kV. The system includes a new main substation, sectionalizing switchgear and secondary substations to serve individual campus buildings. The new 2.4kV indoor substation project received an Honor Award for Energy from the Consulting Engineers Council of Pennsylvania. |
