History
The year was 1955 when a young, college degreed mechanical engineer named John J. Brinjac (pictured left) began his consulting engineering business in Harrisburg, PA.
Mr. Brinjac quickly gained the reputation as one of the most knowledgeable engineers in the area. His firm, John J. Brinjac and Associates, was built on the premise of providing public school designs to meet the growing demands of the post WWII baby boom. Mr. Brinjac's vision for the future of the firm: ensure continuity into the next generation and become more diversified.

In the early 1960's, Mr. Brinjac was joined by a former army colleague seeking to learn the trade, Conrad Kambic. By 1968, Mr. Kambic gained his professional engineer's registration and became a shareholder in the firm. In 1971, the firm became Brinjac Kambic and Associates and in 1972, John M. Brinjac joined the firm, following in his father's footsteps.
Due to the energy crisis of the late 70's, educational building owners were seeking ways to save money on fuel costs. Buildings that Brinjac Kambic and Associates had worked on previously were now direct clients and as a result, Brinjac Kambic was thriving.
Then, with the untimely death of the firm's founder JJB in 1983, John M. Brinjac assumed the role of managing daily operations at the firm. Soon thereafter, Brinjac Kambic was hired as the city of Harrisburg's retained engineer; John's younger brother David, a talented civil engineer, took charge of this new service entity.
While expanding our service offerings, the firm also expanded its reach, opening new offices in Philadelphia, the Lehigh Valley, Williamsport, PA, Hunt Valley, MD, and Vienna, VA. What was once a company relying primarily on the mechanical engineering facet of the public school market was now a six office enterprise offering a full breadth of specialty services including telecom, civil/environmental, structural, security, lighting, fire protection, commissioning, energy management and controls. The firm continues to grow, providing its clients with over 50 years of proven experience.
